I love to walk down side streets and alleys when I am visiting places, just so I can see different things. Sometimes it ends up boring, and at worst a bit treacherous. On this winter day in Barcelona, Spain it was neither! The winter sun casts deep shadows in the narrow streets but highlights the colorful upper stories with plants, laundry, and even window shades to protect from the bright sun. This alley was not far off Las Ramblas, one of the busiest street you can find in Barcelona!
