Description
Monterosso al Mare is at its best in the early morning light viewed from afar! The lighting on this early morning hike from Vernazza to Monterosso was abstolutely stunning! You could not ask for a more perfect scene. I looked out to sea and found myself feeling sorry for passengers in a cruise ship, thinking that they were missing the best of the Italian coast. Monterosso is one of the villages of Cinque Terre, in Italy. Travelling southward from Milan, Monterosso is the first town and the most touristed, since it boasts a proper beach and is home to several larger, fancier hotels. Cinque Terre is a string of five centuries-old seaside villages on the rugged Italian Riviera coastline in the Liguria region of Italy. In each of the five towns of the region, colorful houses and ancient vineyards cling to steep terraces and fishing boats bob in harbors. The coastline, the five villages, and the surrounding hillsides are all part of the Cinque Terre National Park and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site

A minimalist image with deep, corresponding detail. The sweep of cloud draws the eye out to the further horizon, while the strong rock of the right foreground invites the viewer back. l/f/tweet
