Sunrise waits for no photographer! Here the rays of the sun are just reaching the farthest peaks seen in Badlands National Park (South Dakota, USA)! The nearby formations lie in shadow but within minutes sunlight bathes the entire area and the magical light of sunrise is gone. This photo was taken from the Pinnacles Overlook, showing many of the distinctive striations and formations of the landscape.
