It's another of the Canadian Rockies' stunning turquoise lakes, Emerald Lake. It may be 'just one more' stunningly turquoise-aqua-blue lake but you still don't get tired of seeing them! Seeing the lake and surrounding mountains by rowboat seems to be an ideal way to get enjoy the peace and quiet of the area, even in the middle of a summer day when the shore is crowded with day visitors. Emerald Lake is located in Yoho National Park, British Columbia, Canada. It is the largest of Yoho's 61 lakes and ponds, as well as one of the park's premier tourist attractions. The lake is enclosed by spectacular peaks of the Canadian Rockies. The vivid turquoise color of the water, caused by powdered limestone, is most spectacular in July as the snow melts from the surrounding mountains. The Canadian Rocky Mountain Parks of Banff, Jasper, Kootenay and Yoho along with three provincial parks comprise a UNESCO World Heritage site.
