This is the view of Frankton/Queenstown on the south island of New Zealand taken from a lookout on the Crown Range Road that runs between Queenstown and Wanaka. The Crown Range Road is a memorable road to say the least! It is the highest road in the country reaching an altitude of 1121 m (3677 ft) above the sea level. It is also a very twisting and winding road so the driver better be alert! It also contains several 180 degree hairpin bends where you had better slow to 10 mph or you risk running into oncoming traffic or off the road. I watched out for the upcoming lookout points while my husband payed close attention to the road. In this view you can see the town of Frankton, the Queenstown airport with Lake Wakatipu in the distance and the Kawarau River (as best I can determine) in the foreground. The drive is a spectacular way to travel from Wanaka to Queenstown since most of the lookouts are on your side of the road making for easier and safer turnouts.

Wherever I go I want to walk every street, hike every trail, ride the bus or metro, climb every tower, walk around and through every monument, and then do it all over again when the light changes. In every place, light, mood, color, and...
