St. Barbara's is the most spectacular gothic cathedral in the Czech Republic, a land noted for its Gothic cathedrals, and it is a UNESCO world heritage site. Also notable is the unique tent-like roof. The cathedral sits atop a cliff, providing an awe-inspiring view both of the church from afar and also of the surrounding lands from the church. Saint Barbara's Church is a Roman Catholic church in Kutna Hora (Bohemia) in the style of a Cathedral, and is sometimes referred to as the Cathedral of St Barbara. St Barbara is the patron saint of miners, which was highly appropriate for a town whose wealth was based entirely upon its silver mines.
