Our room in the B&B in Wanaka, New Zealand was named the Mt Iron room. Mount Iron is an impressive, glacier carved, rocky knoll that rises nearly 250 m above the surrounding countryside, and was viewable from the room. It is a relatively easy and popular walk to the top and as a reward for reaching the summit on a spring day, there is an excellent 360-degree panorama of the surrounding countryside, including this spectacular view of Lake Wanaka and the peaks of Mount Aspiring National Park seen in the distance. The painterly treatment enhances the dreamlike quality of the experience!
