Description
Driving along the Icefields Parkway in Banff and Jasper National Parks in Alberta Canada is the poster child of the saying that the journey is as important, or more important, as the destination! I had set out thinking I would drive north from Canmore as far as the town of Jasper. But I never quite made it! There were SO many places to pull off the road for photos! This was taken just south of Bridalveil Falls, still in Banff National Park. From the map, I believe the river is the Saskatchewan River. I was happy to have my National Geographic maps since the signage along the way was not overly evident or abundant! At this point there is a large loop in the road leading upwards from the valley to Sunwapta Pass and Jasper National Park.
