After the shortest of visits a few years ago, my appetite was whetted for another visit to Natural Bridge National Monument in Utah. Even though I was driving from Mexican Hat Utah to Torrey Utah, I was able to spend a few hours here. Aside from the bridges, the rock formations are spectacular and are a geologist's dream! Natural Bridges National Monument is located about 50 miles (80 km) northwest of the Four Corners boundary of southeast Utah. In 1904, the National Geographic Magazine publicized the bridges and the area was designated a National Monument April 16, 1908 by President Theodore Roosevelt. It is Utah's first National Monument.
