Never one to miss a good climb, I had to visit the rooftop of the Barcelona Cathedral. It was located about 2 blocks from where I was staying so it was the first thing I did after checking into my hotel! It amazes me the workmanship that was invested in these older structures, as well as the workmanship that was possible with the tools available at the time. It's official name is the Cathedral of the Holy Cross and Saint Eulalia, but is also called La Seu. It is a one of the most beautiful Gothic buildings in Barcelona, located in the Barri Gotic (Gothic Quarter) of Barcelona. As the seat of the Archbishop of Barcelona, Spain, it is a more important church than the Sagrada Familia although the Sagrada Familia is arguably more famous. This cathedral is also much older. It was constructed from the 13th to 15th centuries, with the principal work done in the 14th century.
