Description
One tour book said “As for Slope Pt, it’s not too interesting….there’s nothing there of interest but a signpost”. I guess it depends on your point of view! Slope Point is the most southerly spot on New Zealand’s South Island. Before you get to the single little yellow signpost, you traverse a couple km of pastureland where you’d like to just look off to the horizon, but where you have to keep glancing downward to avoid the sheep dung! It would be annoying if the sheep weren’t so darned cute! This one, rolling around in the new green grass in the sunshine, looks so blissfully happy, you can’t but smile!
