Description
So I had a plane to catch. Minor detail. There is almost always time for some more photos as you are trying to leave the Canadian Rockies. This is an early morning summer view of the Bow River in Canmore with the rocky Three Sisters peaks off in the distance on the left. The peaks are known individually as Big Sister (Faith), Middle Sister (Charity) and Little Sister (Hope) (R to L) and are the iconic landmarks of Canmore. The peaks were original called the Three Nuns because as Albert Rogers wrote in 1883 "There had been quite a heavy snowstorm in the night, and when we got up in the morning and looked out of the tent I noticed each of the three peaks had a heavy veil of snow on the north side and I said to the boys, 'Look at the Three Nuns.' They were called the Three Nuns for quite a while but later were called the 'Three Sisters,' more Protestant like I suppose." Big Sister is 9,632' Middle Sister is 9,084' and Little Sister is 8,840'.

Fantastic scene and image capture Joan. Love that light on the mountains. Canmore and the entire area within the Canadian Rockies are such an awesome place to visit isn't it! Even if it meant missing a plane! LOL. But I hope you didn't. Very well done composition and all. Happen to have any more from that area? Would love to see some.
