The Cathedral Santuario de Guadalupe (Cathedral Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe) is the cathedral church of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Dallas, Texas. It sits on busy Ross Avenue in the Arts District and so is difficult to photograph without cars in the foreground whizzing past, or stopped at the light on the corner off the left side of the photo. I had to keep watch to both sides for approaching traffic while watching through the viewfinder for a clear view. It took many light changes to be happy that I had captured a set of exposures that I could use! The church oversees the second largest Catholic church membership in the United States. Its average Sunday attendance is 11,200. In 1869, Dallas's first Catholic parish, Sacred Heart Church, was established by the Bishop of Galveston. The church was built a few years later.
