Description
The Cinque Terre region of Italy is a hikers’ paradise! The ‘high’ hiking trails bring you to the ridge tops above the five towns and give you stunning views of the Mediterranean Sea below. Here, the town of Corniglia is visible on its rocky outcrop, the only one of the five towns that does not sit on the shore. The train tracks that run through the Cinque Terre region and connect the five towns is also visible. At the end of the train tracks, and zig-zagging up the hill, is the pedestrian access to the town from the train station. The coastline, the five villages, and the surrounding hillsides are all part of the Cinque Terre National Park and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
