I had an afternoon to wander around Moab Utah (USA) so I went into a hiking store to have a look around. I was talking with a salesperson who told me I should take the hike out to Corona Arch: it was only 1.5 miles and it was close to town. I figured I had just enough time to do the hike before I had to meet up with a group later in the day. So I hustled back to the hotel, gathered my gear and took off. I hadn’t read up on the hike so I had no idea what to expect. Reading later I found a site that said “Few hikes culminate with such wow as the Corona Arch Trail”. Corona Arch is a freestanding arch and one of the largest in the Moab area measuring 140 feet across by 105 feet high. Despite the ‘fame’ of the nearby Arches National Park, Corona Arch easily ranks as one of the most spectacular arches in the area.
