Description
They look like aliens in black and white! But they are only the decorative chimneys of La Pedrera in Barcelona Spain. La Pedrera, otherwise known as Casa Mila is a building degined by Antoni Gaudi and built in 1906-1912 in the Eixample district of Barcelona. The rooftop is one of the many significant parts of the building, where skylights, staircase exits, fans, and chimneys have become real sculptures integrated into the building. . All of these elements, constructed with timbrel coated with limestone, broken marble or glass, have a specific architectural function, nevertheless, they have become real sculptures integrated into the building. The design of the building was controversial at the time of construction and would probably be controversial even today! Nevertheless, it was declared a World Heritage site by UNESCO in 1984. The building is made open to the public by Fundaci Catalunya-La Pedrera, which manages the various exhibitions and activities and visits to the interior and roof.
