Description
Lucky for me, this American crocodile seen in Costa Rica was headed in the opposite direction, although I’m sure he could turn in a flash if he needed! Also lucky for me, the American crocodile tends not to be as aggressive as some other species but I wasn’t going to test out that theory. The American crocodile can be seen throughout the lowlands of Costa Rica, gliding along rivers or sunning on muddy banks. It has a long, strong tail, a scaly suit of armor and a very powerful set of jaws. Its eyes, ears and nostrils are located on the top of its head, giving the croc a low profile while swimming through the water.
