Description
A few blocks from Piazza della Scala in Milan Italy is the Casa degli Omenoni, an historic palace in Milan. These are two of the eight 'Omenoni' (translated as 'great men') flanking the doorway in the palace's facade. The torsos are carved into 3-dimensional space giving the appearance of struggle, discomfort, and aon attempt to break free. The house was built in 1562 by sculptor Leone Leoni for himself. Antonio Abondio sculpted the atlantes on the facade giving the name to the palace.

I like this and it's a perfect angel to really get the feel of the massiveness of this doorway . . .
