Description
The day was dreary, socked in with fog, enough to make you just want to stay in bed. But we had to check out of our lodgings in the Catlins area of New Zealand. May as well go for a hike, albeit a short one. Horseshoe Falls is located on the Matai Stream in the Catlins Forest Park only a 15 minute walk from the carpark and within a-five minute walk of another pretty waterfalls, Matai Falls. Horseshoe Falls doesn’t always get mentioned in tour books, maybe due its co-location with Matai Falls. Visiting both waterfalls definitely made a soggy day more enjoyable!
