Description
Stand in the Placa del Mercat in Valencia Spain and you have the Mercat Central on one side, La Lonja on another, and the Iglesia de los Santo Juanes (Santos Juanes Church) on another, all historic and photogenic places! It was easy to just turn turn turn and keep taking photos as the light changed through the early morning hours. This is some building detail of the Santos Juanes Church which is one of the oldest in Valencia. It is also known as the church of San Juan del Mercado (Saint John of the Market). The church was originally built as a hermitage on the site of an old mosque in 1240. It had to be reconstructed in the 14th and 16th centuries due fire damage. Its baroque style dates back to the end of the 17th and the beginning of the 18th centuries. It has a unique triangular clock tower.
