Description
At first it looked like some sort of lottery selection mechanism except that the balls weren’t blowing around. Or maybe some gigantic gumballs. Or maybe a BINGO game. It turned out to be a very involved way to make a cup of coffee. First, if you are a connoisseur, you can go around and read the plaques below each device to learn the degree of acidity, boldness, etc in each blend. Then place your money in the slot and get a white plastic ball filled with coffee beans. Take the ball to another counter and empty the beans into a grinder, press a few buttons and a fresh custom cup of coffee is yours. All for about 500 yen (or about $5). This was in the Mori observation tower in Tokyo Japan. Maybe they felt you needed more amusements after you looked out at the view of Tokyo from 250 m above sea level!
