Description
Hikes in parts on New Zealand have low and high tide paths, the low tide path usually being the shorter and flatter of the two. On a 15 km return hike from Lee Bay to Port William hut on Stewart Island, Maori Beach was at low tide, allowing us to have a walk across this lovely expanse of white beach. On the outbound hike, it was cloudy and rainy but by the return hike the sun was shining and the sky was blue. And the clouds really did look like this!
