Morning Glory Arch near Moab Utah (USA) has a span of 243 feet, making it the sixth longest natural rock span in the United States. However, the 4.65-mile round trip hike to reach the arch deters at least some visitors, as I had the trail to myself for most of the early morning. As you approach the arch along the trail, it’s a bit of a letdown since it looks more like an alcove in the rocks rather than an arch. But the arch is separated from the cliff behind it by about 15 feet. So it isn’t until you get much closer that you see it’s a ‘real’ arch! There is a tiny stream of water that comes out of a fracture in the rock which forms the little pool below and adds to the magical reflections of the spot.
