Morning in the Cinque Terre town of Manarola starts out slowly but as the trains and ferries start operating, people start arriving to enjoy the beautiful scenery, some hiking or some watersports. Manarola also has some wonderful deep water swimming in a small pool behind the foreground rocks but in front of and below the small piazza. For me the water was a bit cold and the temperature wasn't that warm that I'd want to swim, but it sure did look inviting! Cinque Terre is a string of five centuries-old seaside villages on the rugged Italian Riviera coastline in the Liguria region of Italy. In each of the five towns of the region, colorful houses and ancient vineyards cling to steep terraces and fishing boats bob in harbors. The five towns are a hikers tourism resort paradise. The coastline, the five villages, and the surrounding hillsides are all part of the Cinque Terre National Park and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
