Description
We spent the night at Pohatu Bay on the edge of the Tutukakahikura Scenic Reserve near Akaroa New Zealand. We had the opportunity to walk (downhill!!) along the gentle river and waterfalls of the Tutukakahikura Scenic Reserve that is part of the well-known Banks Track. As we neared Pohatu Bay, we traversed a working sheep farm where we were escorted along our way by numerous sheep. Sometimes they seemed to watch us with curiosity, sometimes with seeming indifference, and sometimes with some hostility. Or maybe I’m was reading too much into having these REALLY BIG sheep crashing through the brush and across the trail! You could easily imagine that they were plotting how to ambush you around the next bend in the trail. I read that a group of sheep is called a flock, herd or mob. I’m going with mob.
