Description
It[s hard to get tired of looking at Notre Dame! But the classic view of the south facade from the Left Bank (or Rive Gauche) across the Seine River is particularly delightful. Of course, you have to squeeze yourself in between the book stalls in order to take a photo from the sidewalk! But from this view, you can see the famous flying buttresses. You can also see the famous south Rose Window, a gift from the king Saint Louis and originally constructed in 1260. The couple below on the quay had a better idea. Either they were deciding whether to splurge for a meal at the quayside boat-restaurant or they were enjoying the view, or both. Notre Dame sits on the Ile de la Cite, the historic center of Paris.
