I was told the hike to Corona Arch near Moab Utah was spectacular as was the arch itself, so with no other information than that I headed out. I had no idea what to expect, I hadn’t looked at any websites that documented every twist and turn of the trail. As I walked across this slickrock section I saw the alcove in the rocks in the distance. I was hoping that it wasn’t Corona Arch since an alcove rather than a freestanding arch would have been a disappointment! How spoiled can you get where a different-but-still-beautiful scene could be a disappointment. It turned out to be some added attractions along the way and Corona Arch was yet to come!

The hike to and from Corona Arch near Moab Utah (USA) is only 1.5 miles each way but is packed with never-ending, varied and beautiful scenery. And of course, the return hike always looks different from the outbound hike. This hike was a spur of the moment decision after talking with a salesperson at an outdoor shop in Moab so I had no idea what to expect. He promised I would not be disappointed and that was good enough for me!
