Description
Viewed from the Baluardo (“rampart”) on the east hillside of Lake Como Italy, a large sweep of Lake Como can be seen! At the bottom left is Fiumelatte on the east side of the lake. Moving clockwise, Bellagio sits on the spit of land in the upper right side, where the lake splits into two arms. Beyond, the upper arm of the lake brings you to Lenno and Tremezzo in approximately the center on the west side of the lake. Menaggio is also on the west side farthest on the upper right. Varenna sits on the east side of the lake on the right of the photo. Ferries ply the waters of the lake on a regular basis bringing commuters and tourists from one town to another.
