Mori Tower observation deck in Roppongi Hills area of Tokyo, Japan provides an excellent view of Tokyo Tower and the surrounding cityscape from its observation decks. Tokyo Tower has been a prominent landmark in the city since its completion in 1958, at which time it was the tallest freestanding tower in the world, beating out the Eiffel Tower by 9 meters. It remained the tallest in the world until 1967 and now ranks 23rd. However, it remained the tallest structure in Japan until the Tokyo Skytree tower opened in 2011.
