Description
Our stay on Stewart Island New Zealand was defined by the phrase “If you don’t like the weather, just wait 24 hours!” Or maybe just 2 hours. We arrived at the trailhead for this hike and a squall was blowing through. The wind was so strong I couldn’t open the car door. We noticed little white things bouncing off the windshield. What?! Hail? Seriously? Soon the squall passed and the wind went back to its normal 25 knots. It was still showery but what the heck, we were there, we may as well go for a hike. An hour later we were peeling off our rain gear, and not too long after that this was the scene at Voila Voe. We were getting used to this rhythm! I got as many blue-sky photos as I could before the weather changed again.
