Description
This is the Weeping Wall, a set of cliffs alongside the Icefields Parkway in Banff National Park (Alberta, Canada) just south of the boundary with Jasper National Park. Located at Cirrus Mountain, the Weeping Wall resembles a mountain with a river of tears. The main fall is called Teardrop. In spring and summer, the faces of the cliffs are usually covered with a series of cascading waterfalls as seen here. In winter, the waterfalls freeze into towering pillars of ice and become a well-known site for ice climbing. The Canadian Rocky Mountain Parks of Banff, Jasper, Kootenay and Yoho along with three provincial parks comprise a UNESCO World Heritage site.
