Girona is a city in the northeast of Spain, 99 km northeast of Barcelona. It is a popular destination for tourists and Barcelona day-trippers, being just one hour from Barcelona by train. But it feels like you have stepped back a century. Its historic area is a tangle of cobbled lanes and medieval walls. Fun fact: Girona is the star of the sixth season of Game of Thrones, and the city is being seen all over the world (more than 20 million viewers in the USA alone, and seen in 173 countries).
