Artist's Description

The short hike from Varenna to Bellano on Lake Como Italy runs along an old mule track dating back to Roman times. It is called Sentiero del Viandante or Wayfarer’s Path. Along the way, you pass olive groves, interesting stone walls and pretty villages and churches. Occasionally there are outstanding views of the lake with few obstructions in the way of a panoramic photo. The town seen on theleft in the photo is Varenna, while Menaggio is across the lake. The hike between Varenna and Bellano take several hours while the train ride back (the tracks seen to the left) takes about four minutes.
