Our spiral notebooks are 6" x 8" in size and include 120 pages which are lined on both sides. The artwork is printed on the front cover which is made of thick paper stock, and the back cover is medium gray in color. The inside of the back cover includes a pocket for storing extra paper and pens.

Some of the hiking trail descriptions in the Lake Como area of Italy were a bit ‘sketchy’ in that the descriptions seemed to be a translation from Italian to English that might have been done by Google translate! Grammar, sentence structure, vocabulary…all a little questionable at times. Such was the description of the hike to the Rifugio Menaggio, high above the town of Menaggio. But we set off anyway and, shortcomings excepted, the description proved to be surprisingly good with the trail markers filling in where the description failed. The hike itself is to the ‘Rifugio’, a mountain shelter situated at 1400m altitude. There were reputed to be brilliant views of Lake Como so it was natural I would want to go. We made our way to the starting point by taking a bus from Menaggio up on a steep hairpin road to the mountain village of Breglia. It was like Mr Toad’s Wild Ride.
