A lovely view of the Newport Bridge from Jamestown, RI! The Newport Bridge is properly known as the Claiborne Pell Newport Bridge, and is a suspension bridge spanning the East Passage of Narragansett Bay in Rhode Island. The bridge connects Newport on Aquidneck Island with Jamestown on Conanicut Island. It was named for US Senator Claiborne Pell in 1992, but since it was originally constructed from 1966 to 1969, it is more commonly known by its original name. The main span of the Newport Bridge is 488 meters (1601 ft), ranking it number 70 among the longest suspension bridges in the world, and making it the longest suspension bridge in New England. Look on the state quarter for Rhode Island and you will see this bridge! However, this photo is the only place you will see this lovely red tugboat in the foreground!

Wherever I go I want to walk every street, hike every trail, ride the bus or metro, climb every tower, walk around and through every monument, and then do it all over again when the light changes. In every place, light, mood, color, and...
