The day before I took this photo was cloudy, rainy, and chilly. When we took the ferry across Lake Como Italy we noticed that the cloud layer had descended far below the peaks and nearly to the lake level. What that brought us on the next glorious morning in early May was snow on the mountain peak! I had to double check my previous photos to make sure the snow hadn’t been there all along. I took this photo from the balcony of our room in Varenna on the eastern side of Lake Como, looking to the west side above the town of Menaggio. By afternoon the snow was gone!
