We waited and waited for good weather in Budapest to climb Gellert Hill for views of the city, the Danube River, and the bridges. But on this winter holiday, this was as good as it got! Still, there is no denying that the climb up is worth the view. The view is ever-changing on the way up, and (if you go down the opposite side of the hill from which you climbed up) also on the way down. The climb is not hard, especially if you are stopping to enjoy the view and take photos every few steps! This view shows St Stephen's Basilica towering over its neighbors on the Pest side of the Danube River. This is the most important church building in Hungary, one of the most significant tourist attractions and the third highest building in Hungary.
