The beautiful reflecting pond at the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth gives you time and space to relax in quiet. The futuristic architecture belies the fact that the Modern is the oldest museum in Texas, having been chartered in 1892. However this new facility was only opened in 2002. It was designed by world-renowned architect Tadao Ando and the construction of the museum was almost as much of an 'event' as the opening. Ando's architectural style is said to create a "haiku" effect, emphasizing nothingness and empty space to represent the beauty of simplicity. The Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth maintains one of the foremost collections of international modern and contemporary art in the country. See the work of Andy Warhol, Jackson Pollock and Mark Rothko as well as special exhibitions.

In every place, light, mood, color, and...
