When opportunity strikes, take it! I should have heeded my own advice and had some of the yoghurt from this shop! This shop is located at the base of the hill where the Potala Palace is located in Lhasa Tibet. There is a one way 'traffic flow' for tourists to go in and out of the palace so when you exit the palace you can't miss it! Lhasa Tibet is located at 12,000 feet in altitude. In addition, the climb up to the palace is about 300 steps, which is a challenge at that altitude for unacclimatized individuals. Some yak yogurt would have been a refreshing treat! Yoghurt is a staple food of Tibetan food and has been made in Tibet for a thousand years. The creamy milk of the yak cow is delicious, they say!
