I took a class here at the Tarrant County College Trinity River Campus several years ago and marveled at the site's transformation in such a short time. When we moved to Fort Worth in 1998 this was the site of Ripley Arnold Housing, a public housing development constructed in the 1940s and named for the founder of Fort Worth. The two story, red brick apartment buildings were arranged with the fronts of the apartments facing the streets and the rears facing courtyards and playgrounds. Many old oak and pecan trees were present throughout the site. But the days of the complex were numbered. In 2002 it was decided that Ripley Arnold Place would be demolished and its residents would be relocated to other apartment communities within Fort Worth.
