Description

The 3-mile round trip hike to Corona Arch near Moab Utah starts by crossing a railroad track before heading out into the sandstone landscape. Trains use the track to haul potash from the mine in Moab so you do have to look both ways. Potash is a potassium-containing salt widely used as a water softener and fertilizer and about 60% of the US production of potash is from the Moab mine. You would think with all that production I would have seen a train come along but I didn’t!
