It is It is not really a new mosque, having been built in the 1600s. The exterior consists of a great courtyard, two minarets, and a cascade of sixty-six domes cascading down from a central dome. The courtyard is 39 m square, bordered by a columned peristyle covered by 24 small domes. An elegant ablution fountain is in the center but is no longer used. The interior of the mosque is 41 m square, while the dome sits 36 m high. The interior is decorated with Iznik tiles, named after a town in western Anatolia.
