Crowds stream into Prague Castle and to St Vitus Cathedral during the daytime and at nighttime they admire the castle complex from afar as it is brightly lit. But the grounds are open until midnite and you can admire the brightly lit cathedral up close. This is the main entrance of St Vitus Cathedral, with the famous Rose Window above the portal. The rose window is maybe the most beautiful example of stained glass craft in Prague. It is rather new, dating from the 1920s and represents scenes from the biblical �Creation�. Like most stained glass windows, it is spectacular particularly from the inside as the light streams in. St. Vitus Cathedral is a Roman Catholic cathedral in Prague, and the seat of the Archbishop of Prague. The full name of the cathedral is St. Vitus, St. Wenceslas and St. Adalbert Cathedral. This cathedral is an excellent example of Gothic architecture and is the biggest and most important church in the country. Located within Prague Castle and containing the tombs of many Bohemian kings and Holy Roman Emperors, the cathedral is under the ownership of the Czech government as part of the Prague Castle complex.
