Description
Just a short, albeit a bit steep and sweaty, walk outside of the main touristic areas of Granada Spain brings you along the road to the area of town know as Sacromonte as well as the Sacromonte Abbey. From here you get an entirely different view of Spain! From here you get a magnificent view of the Sierra Nevada Mountains, and a lovely view up the Darro River valley. Granada is a the confluence of four rivers, the Darro River being one of them. The river is famous for providing water to the Alhambra and being an integral part in the history of ancient Muslim Granada. Today the walk along the Darro river only slightly upriver from the town center is a main tourist drag with many shops and restaurants. But walk a little farther for a more rural view!
