Description
The Church of San Pedro el Viejo is one of the oldest in Madrid Spain. It features a 14th-century Mudéjar brick tower. Although it was cited in the Charter of 1202, the alterations and demolitions have left a building that dates back to the fourteenth century, with some elements of that time such as its Mudejar tower, and other alterations up until the seventeenth century. An old legend tells that in this church there was a big bell that, because it was so big, could not be raised to the tower. But one morning it appeared placed on top of the tower without human intervention. Since then, the bell had the power to ward off storms with its sound.
