Description
As I walked around the square near the cathedral in Siena Italy, I noticed some people high above the square on what appeared to be a narrow walkway. I naturally asked “How do I get up there?”. Once you wend your way through the museum and up several flights, you find yourself on the museum rooftop with a 360 degree view all around. In this direction, you see the Torre del Mangia, the famed tower in the Piazza del Campo, as well as the dense cover of rooftops in the Crayola ‘burnt sienna’ tint. The tower was built to be exactly the same height as the Siena Cathedral as a sign that the church and the state had equal amounts of power.
