Description
The stone structure and the detail in the door of the Cambron Gate in Toledo Spain were just beautiful and I tried to capture that, along with the view beyond. However, the Cabron Gate is the only gate in Toledo open to motor traffic so I had to spend some time discerning the ebb and flow of traffic as well as the ebb and flow of pedestrians in between the traffic. It took a while but eventually I was able to capture the details without either traffic or people. It was quite a dichomomy to see a stream of modern automobiles heading out of the city through the ancient gate. The Cambron Gate is just a few blocks from the Monastery of St John of the. It is built over the remains of a Visigoth gate, and the current structure is in the Renaissance style with a square floor plan. It stands in the historic walls that run from the Old Bisagra Gate to San Martin Bridge. Toledo was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1986 for its extensive monumental and cultural heritage.
