One of the first views you get on entering Badlands National Park in South Dakota USA from the north is that from Pinnacles Overlook. There are spires, cliffs, ravines, buttes, towers, gargoyle shapes, ridges, pillars, overhangs, shelves, tabletops, and chimneys. Whatever the formation, it is here! At sunrise, the light first touches the farthest formations and gradually lights up the entire valley.
