How can you mind waiting for the bus when you have time to do some photos!? A bus stop a couple of blocks from my B&B in Avila Spain took me to lots of places I might want to go. It also gave me a great view of the Basilica de San Vicente. This was early morning with a brief break in the clouds and a beautiful lighting of the porticoed gallery. The Basilica stands on the traditional site of the martyrdom of St. Vincent at the hands of the Romans. It is considered to be one of the best examples of Romanesque architecture in the Spain. But since it was constructed over the course of two centuries, it has elements of Gothic architecture as well. It was designated a National Monument in 1923.
